Who they were

At Trnava in Slovakia, Blessed Zdenka (Cecilia) Schelingová, virgin of the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Holy Cross and martyr, who, in times of great difficulty for the Church in her nation, suffered much in body and spirit for having protected a priest and, finally struck by illness, shone as a tireless and joyful witness of Christ.

The miracles

As a martyr she was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers her on 31 July as a Sister of Charity of the Holy Cross who suffered for having protected a priest.

The cause

Zdenka Cecília Schelingová has been beatified; the cause continues. Favours received, and offers of help, go to the postulation, the office that carries the cause forward: Sisters of Mercy of the Holy Cross: Blessed Zdenka Schelingova.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. Reporting one begins with the postulation.
