Who they were

At London in England, Blessed martyrs Thomas Green, priest, and Walter Pierson, monk of the local Charterhouse, who, for having opposed King Henry VIII's claim to supreme rights in church matters, were shut up in a filthy prison, where, worn away by hunger and sickness, they met a glorious death.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 10 June as a monk of the London Charterhouse who died of hunger and sickness in prison for opposing King Henry VIII's claim over the Church.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
