Vincent-Joseph Le Rousseau de Rosencoat
Confessor to the Visitation nuns in Paris, formerly of the Society of Jesus, martyr of the French Revolution
Who they were
He was the confessor to the Visitation nuns in Paris, formerly of the Society of Jesus. He was one of the 191 martyrs killed in Paris in the first days of September 1792, in the persecution of the Church during the French Revolution, and Pope Pius XI declared him blessed on 17 October 1926.
The miracles
As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology for 2 September names him among the blessed martyrs of Paris, and the letter of Pius XI counts him among those put to death in the convent of the Carmelites.
The cause
The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.
