Victricius
Gallo-Roman saint
Feast: 7 August (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
At Rouen, also in France, Saint Victricius, bishop, who, while still a soldier, left the army under the Emperor Julian to follow Christ, was subjected by the tribune to many tortures and condemned to death; later freed, he became a bishop and also brought the peoples of the Morini and the Nervii to the Christian faith.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 7 August as a soldier who left the army to follow Christ, became bishop of Rouen and brought the Morini and Nervii to the faith.
