Vedast
Frankish bishop and saint
Feast: 6 February (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
At Arras in Gallia Belgica, now in France, Saint Vedast, bishop, who, sent by Saint Remigius, bishop of Reims, to the devastated city, catechised King Clovis, re-established the Church and governed it for about forty years, and completed the work of evangelising the still pagan peoples of the region.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 6 February as the bishop of Arras who catechised King Clovis and evangelised the region.
