Who they were

Little is known of Ulpia Candida, patron saint of Pozzaglia Sabina. She does not appear in the Martyrologies, but tradition holds that she was martyred at the age of thirty-five, probably in the reign of the emperor Diocletian.

Her body was among those exhumed from the catacombs of Sant'Agnese in Rome and was given by Don Nicola Petrucci to the town of Pozzaglia, where it was solemnly brought during the pontificate of Clement XII. Since 1758 it has been venerated in the parish church of San Nicola di Bari at Pozzaglia Sabina.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: she has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

Obscure martyr traditionally killed under Diocletian at thirty-five; patron of Pozzaglia Sabina, whose relics came from the catacombs of Sant'Agnese.
