Who they were
Theorigitha was a nun at Barking, an invalid for nine years, who foresaw in a vision the approaching death of her abbess, St Ethelburga.
Bede records that three years later, when she was dying and had lost her speech, she suddenly spoke joyfully to an unseen visitor whom she named as her dear mother Ethelburga.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: she has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
A nun of Barking remembered by Bede.
