Who they were

At Nicomedia in Bithynia, in present-day Turkey, Saint Theophylact, bishop, who, struck with exile because of the veneration of sacred images, died at Strobilos in Caria.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 8 March as a bishop of Nicomedia exiled for the veneration of sacred images.
