Soteris
Roman saint
Feast: 11 February (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
At Rome on the Via Appia, in the cemetery that today bears her name, Saint Soteris, virgin and martyr, who, as Saint Ambrose attests, scorning for the faith nobility of birth and honours, did not obey the order to sacrifice to idols, did not bow her head under the blows of servile insults and, condemned to die by the sword, did not shrink from death.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: she has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers her on 11 February as a Roman virgin and martyr, attested by Saint Ambrose, who died by the sword rather than sacrifice to idols.
