Who they were

Simón Reynés Solivellas belonged to the Congregation of the Missionaries of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary; the decree on martyrdom, drawn up for him and five companions of his congregation together with the Franciscan Sisters Daughters of Mercy and the laywoman Prudencia Canyelles i Ginesta, says that faith in Jesus Christ lit up his life and his death and that he and his companions ended their earthly pilgrimage longing to share the blessedness of the risen Lord face to face.

He was beatified by Benedict XVI among the martyrs of Spain raised to the altars in October 2007.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The decree on martyrdom says that faith in Jesus Christ lit up his life and his death in 1936.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
