Sigisbert
Swiss saint
Feast: 11 July (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
At Disentis in Upper Rhaetia, now in Switzerland, Saints Placidus, martyr, and Sigisbert, abbot, of whom the latter, a companion of Saint Columbanus, founded in this place the monastery of Saint Martin, in which the former crowned his monastic life with martyrdom.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 11 July as the abbot, a companion of Saint Columbanus, who founded the monastery of Saint Martin at Disentis.
