Secondinus of Cordoba
Who they were
Despite scant historical and hagiographical information, Secondino of Cordoba was a Christian martyr of the 4th century, venerated since the earliest centuries. Living through the fierce persecution of Diocletian, he refused to renounce his faith and sacrifice to the pagan gods, was tortured, and was finally put to death; the exact place and date of his martyrdom are unknown. His name appears in the Roman Martyrology at 20 April.
His relics are kept in Cordoba cathedral, where they are venerated, and his liturgical memory is celebrated on 20 April with Masses and prayers.
