Who they were
At London in England, the commemoration of Saint Sæbbi, who, king of the East Saxons and very devoted to God, having left his kingdom, wished to die wearing the monastic habit he had long desired.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 29 August as a devout king of the East Saxons who left his kingdom to die in the monastic habit.
