San Solario
Feast: 22 October (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
According to a fairly old tradition, Solario was martyred near San Terenzo al Mare, close to Lerici, at a place still called Solaro today. If this tradition rests on any real source, Solario could be recognised as a bishop of Luni earlier than St Felix, the first bishop attested with historical certainty, which would mean the diocese of Luni already existed at the time of the last persecutions.
The church of Luni kept his feast on 22 October. Today the diocese of La Spezia-Sarzana-Brugnato lists him on its website as the second bishop of Luni, after St Basil.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
Possible early bishop of Luni, said by tradition to have been martyred near Lerici; listed by the diocese as its second bishop, after St Basil; feast 22 October.
