Saint Yon
Who they were
Yon, in Latin Ionius or Aeonius, is a Catholic saint kept on 5 August. He is said to have been a disciple of Saint Denis of Paris.
He is remembered as having preached the faith in the country now called the Hurepoix, and in particular at Chatres, today Arpajon, where he is said to have built a church, and to have been martyred in the year 290 on the hill of the village that now carries his name. He is patron of Saint-Yon and second patron of Arpajon, and is shown with Saint Denis in the fresco of the basilica of Notre-Dame-de-Bonne-Garde at Longpont.
