Saint Pirmin
German saint
Feast: 3 November (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
In the monastery of Hornbach near Strasbourg in Burgundy, the burial of Saint Pirmin, bishop and abbot of Reichenau, who evangelised the Alemanni and the Bavarians, founded many monasteries and wrote a book for his disciples on catechising the unlearned.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 3 November as the abbot of Reichenau who evangelised the Alemanni and Bavarians and founded many monasteries.
