Saint Naum
Bulgarian writer & missionary
Feast: 23 December (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
At Ohrid in Illyricum, in present-day Macedonia, Saint Clement, bishop of Drama, who, distinguished for his learning and knowledge of the sacred writings, brought the light of faith to the Bulgarian people. Together with him are commemorated the holy bishops Gorazd, Naum, Sava and Angelar, who continued in Bulgaria the work of Saints Cyril and Methodius.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 27 July with Saint Clement of Ohrid, as one of the bishops who continued the work of Saints Cyril and Methodius in Bulgaria.
