Rosamonde of Blaru
mother of saint Adjutor, blessed of the Catholic Church
Feast: 30 April (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
Rosamunda di Blar, probably of the eleventh or twelfth century, was a noblewoman, wife of Giovanni, lord of Vernon, and mother of Saint Adjutor, whom she raised with a careful Christian upbringing. Her son became a Benedictine monk and later bishop of Chartres, honoured for his holiness and works of charity.
Little else is recorded of her, but her devotion and her example as a mother won her veneration as blessed, and she is commemorated together with her son on 30 April in the dioceses of Chartres, Evreux and Rouen.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: she has been honoured as blessed since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
Mother of Saint Adjutor of Chartres, honoured for his Christian upbringing; feast 30 April, with him, in Chartres, Evreux and Rouen.
The cause
The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.
