Who they were
At Andlau in Alsace, in the territory of present-day France, Saint Richardis, who, a queen, renouncing the kingdom of this world, served God in the monastery she herself had founded.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: she has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers her on 18 September as a queen who gave up her rank to serve God in the monastery she founded at Andlau.
