Raymond of Toulouse
Chanter and canon
Feast: 3 July (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
At Toulouse on the Garonne in France, Saint Raymond Gayrard, who, a schoolmaster, left a widower, gave himself with passion to works of charity, founded a hospice and was finally admitted among the canons of the basilica of Saint Saturninus.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 3 July as a widowed schoolmaster of Toulouse who founded a hospice and became a canon of Saint-Sernin.
