Presentación de la Sagrada Familia Gallen y Martí
Sister of the Daughters of Mary of the Pious Schools, martyr of the persecution in Spain
Who they were
The decree on martyrdom records that she was born at Morella in the province of Castellon de la Plana on 20 September 1872 into a deeply Christian family whose four daughters all became religious, that she began the novitiate at San Martin de Provensals with her sister Josefa and professed there on 30 August 1892, and that after a time at Olesa de Montserrat she was moved to the college at Valencia, where she remained for the rest of her life. She was beatified on 11 March 2001 by Pope John Paul II.
The miracles
As a martyr she was raised to the altars without a miracle.
Why that counted as sanctity
The decree says she spent the rest of her life at the college in Valencia, scattering good about her.
The cause
The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.
