Práxedes Fernández García was a laywoman and mother of a family, of the Third Order of St Dominic; she was born at Puente de la Luisa, Spain, on 21 July 1886 and died in Oviedo on 6 October 1936. Pope Francis recognised her heroic virtue on 6 December 2014.
