Who they were
Commemoration of Saint Pontius, who was at Carthage the deacon of Saint Cyprian, whose companion in exile he was until his death, leaving an admirable account of his life and martyrdom.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 8 March as the deacon of Saint Cyprian at Carthage who wrote an account of his life and martyrdom.
