Who they were

Saint Pontius of Pradleves is venerated at Pradleves, in the province of Cuneo, where the parish church is dedicated to him and his feast is kept on 14 May. He was a soldier of the famous Theban Legion who escaped the massacre at Agaunum, in modern Switzerland, where Saint Maurice and many fellow soldiers were martyred. With Saint Constantius, another surviving Theban soldier, he is said to have helped evangelise the area between the Grana and Maira streams, before himself suffering martyrdom.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

Theban Legion soldier who survived Agaunum and evangelised the Grana-Maira area before being martyred; feast 14 May.
