Who they were
At Naples, Saint Pomponius, bishop, who built within the city a church dedicated to the Name of Mary Mother of God and, during the occupation of the Goths, defended the people entrusted to him from the Arian heresy.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 30 April as a bishop of Naples who defended his people from the Arian heresy under the Goths.
