Who they were

Pierre Vigne was born at Privas on 20 August 1670, in a town still scarred by the wars of religion, the youngest of three children of a cloth merchant. He was ordained on 18 September 1694 and sent as curate to Saint-Agrève.

Ever more passionate for the salvation of souls, above all of poor country people, 'God's walker' founded the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament.

The miracles

The Dicastery's biography does not describe the miracles approved in the cause.

Why that counted as sanctity

A tireless walking missionary to the rural poor.

The cause

Pierre Vigne has been beatified; the cause continues. Favours received, and offers of help, go to the postulation, the office that carries the cause forward: Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament: Blessed Pierre Vigne.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. Reporting one begins with the postulation.
