Who they were

At Paris in France, the passion of Blessed martyrs Jean Marie du Lau d'Allemans, François-Joseph and Pierre-Louis de la Rochefoucauld, bishops, and ninety-three companions, clerics or religious, who, gathered in the convent of the Carmelites, were slaughtered for Christ out of hatred of religion for having refused to take the impious oath imposed on the clergy during the French Revolution.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 2 September as a bishop slaughtered with his companions at the Carmelite convent in Paris for refusing the oath imposed on the clergy during the French Revolution.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
