Philoromus
Christian martyr
Feast: 4 February (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
At Alexandria in Egypt, the passion of the holy martyrs Phileas, bishop, and Philoromus, military tribune, who, during the persecution of the emperor Diocletian, unmoved by relatives and friends urging them to save their lives, offered their necks to be beheaded and both won the palm from the Lord.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 4 February as a military tribune beheaded at Alexandria with Bishop Phileas under Diocletian.
