Who they were

At Nagasaki in Japan, the blessed martyrs Gaspar Koteda, catechist, and the children Francis Takeya and Peter Shichiemon, who, in the same place and with the same firmness as their fathers, who had undergone martyrdom the day before, were themselves also put to death for Christ by beheading.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 11 September as a child beheaded at Nagasaki with the same firmness as his father, who had been martyred the day before.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
