Who they were

At Damascus in Syria, the holy martyrs Paul and Tatta, a married couple, and Sabinian, Maximus, Rufus and Eugene, their sons, who, accused of being Christians, were beaten and tortured with other torments, and at last gave up their souls to God.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 25 September as a martyr at Damascus who was beaten and tortured with his wife Tatta and their four sons.
