Onufry Wasiluk
Married layman of Pratulin, martyr
Who they were
The decree on martyrdom describes him as twenty-one years old and married. The letter in the Acta Apostolicae Sedis recounts that when the officer could neither threaten nor coax the Greek Catholics into giving up their church, he ordered his soldiers to open fire; they knelt in the graveyard beside the church, singing, and died on 24 January 1874 for the faith and the unity of the Church. He was beatified on 6 October 1996 by John Paul II, among Vincent Lewoniuk and his twelve companions.
The miracles
As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.
Why that counted as sanctity
He was killed in hatred of the faith for refusing to give up his church.

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.
