Who they were

At Reims in Belgic Gaul, in present-day France, the passion of Saint Nicasius, bishop, who, together with his sister Eutropia, a virgin consecrated to Christ, the deacon Florentius and Jucundus, was killed during a raid by some pagans in front of the door of the basilica he himself had founded.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 14 December as a bishop of Reims killed by pagan raiders at the door of the basilica he had founded.
