Who they were
In Egypt, Saint Moses the Ethiopian, who from a famous brigand became a celebrated anchorite, converted many of his band of evildoers and led them with him into the monastery.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 28 August as a brigand who became a celebrated anchorite in Egypt.
