Who they were

Brother Anselmo Pablo (Miguel Solas del Val) was born at Briviesca, in the province of Burgos, on 8 May 1890, and made his perpetual profession as a Brother of the Christian Schools in 1919. He held various teaching posts and belonged to the Brothers' community at their Madrid procure. He was killed on 30 July 1936, one of the six Brothers who died with Brother Agustín María García Tribaldos.

Pope Benedict XVI declared him a martyr in 2011, and he was beatified at Tarragona on 13 October 2013 with his companions.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

One of sixteen De La Salle Brothers killed in Madrid in the religious persecution of 1936-1937, beatified as martyrs in 2013.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
