Who they were

On a galley anchored off Rochefort on the French coast, Blessed Michel-Louis Brulard, priest of the Order of Discalced Carmelites and martyr, who during the French Revolution was confined in inhuman conditions because of his priesthood and died worn out by disease.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 25 July as a Discalced Carmelite priest who died of disease on a prison galley off Rochefort during the French Revolution.

The cause

Michel-Louis Brulard has been beatified; the cause continues. Favours received, and offers of help, go to the postulation, the office that carries the cause forward: Carmelites in France: the blessed martyrs of the Rochefort prison ships.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. Reporting one begins with the postulation.
