Marie-Anastasie de Saint-Gervais de Roquard
Religious sister, martyr at Orange in the French Revolution
Who they were
The Roman Martyrology for 13 July names her among the blessed virgins and martyrs put to death at Orange in France during the French Revolution. The Acta Apostolicae Sedis record that Pope Pius XI beatified the thirty-two women killed at Orange in July 1794 on 10 May 1925.
The miracles
As a martyr she was raised to the altars without a miracle.
Why that counted as sanctity
She was put to death at Orange during the French Revolution in hatred of the faith.
The cause
The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.
