Who they were

Anna Maria Tauscher van den Bosch was born at Sandow, Brandenburg, on 19 June 1855, daughter of a Lutheran pastor; her Lutheran mother loved the Mother of God and visited the poor and sick with her daughter. Her mother died in 1874.

Later a Catholic, left without home or work, after long wandering she found her way in Berlin caring for abandoned street children. For them she founded the Carmelite Sisters of the Divine Heart of Jesus, who soon served the elderly, the poor, migrants and homeless workers too.

The miracles

The Dicastery's biography does not describe the miracles approved in the cause.

Why that counted as sanctity

A pastor's daughter who became a Catholic and a mother to the street children of Berlin.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
