Who they were
Maria Sapientia Heymann, in the world Lucia Emmanuela, was born at Lubiesz on 19 April 1875 and made her perpetual vows in 1906; she was killed at Nysa on 24 March 1945 while shielding a young sister from rape. She was beatified on 11 June 2022 at Wrocław by Pope Francis among Maria Paschalis Jahn and nine companions.
