Who they were

Maria Sabina Thienel, in the world Anna Hedwig, was born at Rudziczka on 24 September 1909 and made her perpetual profession in 1940; she was killed at Lubań on 1 March 1945 defending her chastity. She was beatified on 11 June 2022 at Wrocław by Pope Francis among Maria Paschalis Jahn and nine companions.

The miracles

As a martyr she was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The decree on martyrdom records that she gave her life caring for those entrusted to her and defending her consecrated chastity.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
