Who they were

At Madrid in Spain, Blessed María Dolores Rodríguez Sopeña, virgin: giving an exemplary witness of Christian charity, she drew close to the least of the society of her time, especially in the outskirts of the great cities; she founded the Institute of the Catechist Ladies and the Catechetical Work to proclaim the Gospel and to promote the advancement of the poor and of workers in society.

The miracles

The Roman Martyrology does not describe the miracles approved in the cause.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers her on 10 January as founder of the Catechist Ladies, who served the poor on the edges of the cities.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
