Who they were
Eliza de Jesús, in religion María do Monte Pereira, was a professed religious of the Congregation of the Hospitaller Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus; she was born in Funchal, Portugal, on 10 April 1897 and died there on 18 December 1963. Pope Francis recognised her heroic virtue on 23 March 2023.
