María del Carmen Moreno Benítez
Feast: 22 September (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
At Barcelona, also in Spain, Blessed martyrs Pedro Rivera, priest of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual, María del Carmen Moreno Benítez and María del Refugio Carbonell Muñoz, virgins of the Institute of Mary Help of Christians, who in the same persecution, conformed to the passion of Christ the Bridegroom, attained the reward of eternal peace.
The miracles
As a martyr she was raised to the altars without a miracle.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers her on 1 September as a Salesian sister martyred at Barcelona in the persecution.
The cause
María del Carmen Moreno Benítez has been beatified; the cause continues. Favours received, and offers of help, go to the postulation, the office that carries the cause forward: Salesian Sisters: Blessed María del Carmen Moreno Benítez.
