Who they were

Born at Villorobe, near Burgos, on 14 August 1887, she made her solemn profession on 14 November 1913 and was known in the world as Asunción Pascual Nieto. Pope Francis beatified her with María del Carmen Lacaba Andía and her thirteen companions on 22 June 2019.

The miracles

As a martyr she was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The decree on martyrdom says the sisters went to their deaths unarmed, carrying only the rosary and the Franciscan habit.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
