Marcos García Ortíz was a diocesan priest, born at Begíjar on 7 January 1906 and parish priest of Higuera de Calatrava, who was killed before 22 May 1937 at the age of 31. He was beatified on 13 December 2025 by Pope Leo XIV among the 124 martyrs of Jaén.
