Who they were
Commemoration of Saints Marana and Cyra, virgins, who near Beroea in Syria lived in a narrow enclosed place, exposed to the weather without even a modest shelter, keeping silence and receiving the food they needed through a small window.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: she has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers her on 28 February with Saint Cyra as a virgin who lived enclosed in the open near Beroea in Syria.
