Who they were

Born at Torrelavega in the city of Santander in February 1876, he was a valued preacher who exercised that ministry outside Spain as well, above all in Peru; he taught sacred eloquence at Salamanca and was then moved to Las Caldas de Besaya. He was beatified on 28 October 2007 by Benedict XVI with Enrique Izquierdo Palacios and 13 companions of the Order of Preachers.

The miracles

As a martyr he was raised to the altars without a miracle.

Why that counted as sanctity

The decree on martyrdom names him among the Dominicans killed in the 1936 persecution in Spain.

The cause

The cause continues. No postulation address is published here yet. Favours received through this person’s intercession, and offers of help, are best sent to the religious order or congregation they belonged to, or to the diocese where the cause was opened; either will pass them to the postulation.

A miracle approved by the Holy See is needed for the next step. If you know the postulation’s own page, tell us and it will be added here.
