Maccallin
Who they were
St. Maccallan (Maccallin), abbot of St. Michael at Thierache, in Belgium, was a native of Ireland who crossed over to the continent and became a monk at Vasour (or at Gorze) in the diocese of Namur. He was elected abbot of Vasour, was installed by the bishop of Metz and blessed by the bishop of Liege. The abbey of St. Michael was entrusted to his supervision and the bishop of Laon invited him to reform that of St. Vincent in his episcopal city. Conspicuous for his zeal and holiness of life he was called to render an account of his faithful stewardship in 978.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
