Lul
Archbishop of Mainz
Feast: 16 October (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
In the monastery of Hersfeld in Franconia in Germany, Saint Lul, bishop of Mainz, who, companion and collaborator of Saint Boniface in preaching, was ordained bishop by him, so that he might be a guide for priests, a master of the rule for monks and a faithful preacher and pastor for the Christian people.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 16 October as a bishop of Mainz, companion of Saint Boniface, who ordained him bishop.
