Lorenzo of Novara
Italian Roman Catholic bishop and saint
Feast: 30 April (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
At Novara, Saint Lorenzo, priest and martyr, who had built a sacred font in which he baptised the little ones whose instruction he had cared for; one day, after bringing a great crowd of children to God through baptism, he found martyrdom at the hands of some wicked men, together with the children he had just baptised.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 30 April as a priest of Novara martyred together with the children he had just baptised.
