Lorentino d'Arezzo
Feast: 3 June (not on the universal Roman calendar; kept in the Roman Martyrology or local calendars)
Who they were
Laurentinus and his brother Pergentinus are honoured as patrons of Arezzo. Their legend makes them young nobles arrested under Decius, released because of their birth, who kept on preaching and were beheaded when arrested again.
Butler says the acts have no historical value and their existence is quite uncertain; Delehaye and others think the story grew from the dedication at Arezzo of a church of St Laurence, the name being misread as Laurentinus.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
Why that counted as sanctity
Honoured, with his brother Pergentinus, as a martyr and patron of Arezzo.
